Healthcare issues in the state of Minnesota’s sprawling rural areas have been well documented in recent years. And the latest Federal funding cutbacks to states, including Minnesota, have exacerbated this issue. Timmaron Group is heavily experienced in rural healthcare (details of our experience below), enabling us to deliver critically needed solutions. Specifically, we can apply our deep expertise to:
- Improve health outcomes specifically related to chronic illnesses.
- Build education pathways, including by training new rural healthcare talent and helping to expand the workforce.
- Expand access for new community-based clinics, enabling many more people in rural areas to get medical treatment that previously has been unavailable to them.
- Strengthen government partnerships with providers, providing better communication and sharing of information.
- Improve provider financials so rural hospitals that are in danger of closing can stay in business.
Timmaron Group’s Minnesota roots and rural health run deep. Headquartered in Minneapolis, our team has worked directly in rural Minnesota health IT deployments. That includes the Kanabec County / South Country Health Alliance DiamondView HIE launch – one of the first county-wide population health solutions, delivering electronic care transition notifications to a full community care continuum.
The concept of a Health Information Exchange (HIE) system is to allow hospitals, doctors, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers to electronically share patient medical records with each other. Timmaron Group directly supported South Country Health Alliance’s evaluation and selection of HIE vendor solutions (Optum One, Wellcentive, Medicity), and led the integration and rollout of Medicity’s notification platform, giving us vendor-neutral perspective.
Timmaron’s proprietary Community Care Model, which integrates hospitals, primary care, long-term care, behavioral health, public health, and social services around shared data and care coordination, has been adopted in more than 1,000 U.S. counties across all 50 states.
At Timmaron Group, we have no conflicting vendor affiliations. Our advisory value derives entirely from our expertise and relationships, not from steering clients toward preferred products. We maintain a long-standing partnership with Epic Systems, which developed the industry’s leading electronic health record (EHR) system. CEO Barbara Stinnett has participated in Epic’s annual user group meeting for nine consecutive years, giving us deep knowledge of Epic’s rural deployments while maintaining complete independence from Epic in our advisory capacity.
